One of the first ways our children can begin participating in the liturgy is by becoming an altar server. The altar server helps the priest at Mass and is an example for the congregation during the Mass.

To become an altar server, a boy or girl must be baptized, have received First Holy Communion, and be in the third grade or older. Altar server recruitment and training is in mid-to-late September, after school begins. You do not need to attend Catholic schools to be an altar server.
