Happy Easter!!!
Blessings to each of you as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Resurrection is not just a doctrine. Resurrection is not only what Jesus did on the third day after his crucifixion. Resurrection is who Jesus is. He brings life out of death. When life is out of our hands, when everything around us is hopeless, when death is at work among us, God acts to bring new life. And, where our Lord is, where he speaks, when we listen, LIFE IS MADE NEW.
Christ’s victory over death is our pathway. When we turn our lives to him in ongoing surrender, when we invite him into the center of our lives, when we bring every aspect of our lives to him in prayer, when we join with the church as the body of believers, we have the grace and strength to follow Christ and experience personally his victory in our daily lives. It’s a decision, and it is a decision we renew many times each day as we face the ordinary and extraordinary situations and opportunities that come our way. “Dying you destroyed our death; Rising you restored our life; Lord Jesus come in glory!”
Welcome into our midst the men and women who have been preparing to enter our church this Easter: Kate Fiendell, Kimberly Shibles, Peggy Fanucchi, Laura Grosso, Shannon Glynn, Christina Myrin, Les DeClark, Ondra Matthews, David Mustonen, Craig Sandberg, Carroll Kimmerling, Daniel Gustafson, Deanna Mittelbach, Miriam Kling, and Eddie Coleman. I’m proud of you and proud to welcome you into the sacramental life of the Catholic Church. You will be an asset to the faith community here at Holy Trinity and will help us in making visible the Kingdom of God in our world. Special thanks too to our RCIA team and sponsors who have so generously accompanied them through this process. Good work one and all! |
