Greetings from Fr. Dave,
Ahhh, it is truly winter isn’t it! Because I like to stay “rooted” in the earth, and am outside a fair amount year round I always carefully track the seasons. I want you to know, as of this weekend we have gained TWO minutes of daylight in the morning! Yay! (We have gained 20 minutes of afternoon daylight). Anyway, there is hope for those of us yearning for signs of spring!
Our parish Epiphany party last weekend was a great success. The enthusiasm present in this parish at social gatherings is truly unique! We had a huge crowd, plenty of food (with lots of variety!), a dramatic entrance of the Three Wise (wo)men, live music (thanks Ken), and a good honoring of our altar servers and their leaders! Huge thanks to our Parish Events Ministry for all the organization, leadership, planning, and clean-up. WELL DONE.
Coming up this week is our school Open House on Thursday evening, January 17 beginning at 7:00pm. All are invited who have interest in enrolling students in our fine school. If you know of anyone looking for a truly outstanding school, direct them to this gathering. Catholic Schools Week is coming up at the end of the month so you will be hearing more about the school soon!
Our Ministry Formation Morning is coming up for all our Liturgical Ministries. This will be a chance for our Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Greeters, and Musicians to gather together and reflect on our service to the parish. We will meet from 9:00-Noon in the Fireside Room. Please mark your calendars.
Stay dry and stay warm! |
