Greetings from Fr. Dave,

Seems like I have to use the bulletin each week just to report back on the activities that have taken place!  We have had an incredible month, and the calendar has been full.  Last weekend included our Women’s Retreat, led by Janice Carleton.  Just over 50 women participated and when I came in for mass near the end of the session it was obvious that good things had been happening. What a deeply unified, inspired group of women!

In the school we just finished up the Jog-a-thon.  I was impressed with what a fun event this was.  Having been a part of similar events in other schools I thought I knew what to expect, but this was WAY bigger and better:  music, food, fancy timers, lots of parents helping and participating, and an overall spirit of enthusiasm, even on a crummy winter day!  The new track truly was a plus.  This past week the school went through the accreditation process and had a team of 6 professional educators on campus for 3 days examining and evaluating every possible part of the school.  We’re all glad it’s over!  And, the team was very positive and helpful in assisting us in working on our 5-year plan.

Last weekend at all our masses we conducted our annual and one-time-only-per-year Offertory Drive.  Response was exceptional and I am very grateful!  Please see my letter included in this bulletin.  For those who were away last weekend, we need you to make your pledge and get it back to us this week.  For all of you, please remember to keep consistent with your giving!

Thursday, Nov. 1 is a Holy Day in honor of All Saints.  Masses will be at 8:15am (with the school children) and at 7:00pm.

Coming up on November 3 will be a Morning of Mourning and Healing and a Mass of Remembrance for the faithful departed.  All are welcome to join us from 9-11am in the Fireside Room for a chance to deal with the grief that lingers after the death of loved one.  A mass for all the departed will begin at 11:00am.  Come for either events or both!

This week we pray for three of our parishioners who have died:  Dick Byer, Francis Murawski, and Lacy Zenner.  May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest n peace.  Congratulations to the following children who were baptized:  Caden Lawrence, Brooke Nilles, and Kyra Spiering.
