During the month of November we traditionally remember to pray in a special way for all of those who have died.  In our sanctuary we have a banner listing the names of parishioners who have died in the past year.  I invite you to enter names of deceased family members and friends in our petition book which is brought forward during all of our masses.  This weekend being Veteran’s Day weekend we also include in our prayers those who have given their lives in service of the freedoms we enjoy—and all those who have served and are serving our country in this capacity.

Last weekend our “Morning of Mourning” went very well with a large group of individuals working and praying through the grief process.  Special thanks to Ann Hammond for her work with our Bereavement Ministry, and for our trained Stephen’s Ministers who assisted in the morning event.  Please know these individuals are available to assist in any way those who are grieving and adjusting to the changes left in their lives after the death of loved ones.  Our Stephen’s Ministers can be reached by calling 503-924-3055.

Our Thanksgiving Day mass will be at 9:00 am on Thursday November 22.  Come and join with our community in giving thanks to God for all his many blessings.  As is our tradition, you are invited to bring canned goods for our Community Outreach food pantry.  Bags are available at all masses this weekend and next.  The food will be presented during an offertory procession at mass on Thanksgiving.

This week funeral services were held for Joanne Naval, three-month old daughter of Nick and Raquel Naval.  May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace.  The following children were baptized:  Luke and Amanda France, Chloe Tuquero, Hannah White, and Joshua Tan.  Blessings!
