Greetings from Fr. Dave (frdave@h-t.org)
Happy Easter! Our celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord continues until Pentecost—50 days in all. May the power of Christ’s resurrection continue to shape each of our lives, bringing renewal, focus, and the abundant life that is His gift to us! I’m grateful to have been with you through Holy Week and Easter for the first time. As a priest for nearly 25 years, it remains incredibly humbling for me to preside at the liturgies of this season. They contain our richest symbols, and lead us into the MOST significant moments in our redemption. I always feel so inadequate and unworthy! Thank you to all who participated in the liturgies, especially Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. I’m very pleased.
I want to express special thanks to our musicians. What they do for our parish doesn’t just “happen”. It requires much practice, time, and skill. We are blessed! Fine music enhances liturgy and worship immensely; mediocre or bad music does just the opposite. My deepest appreciation goes to all of our volunteers and to our leaders: Mark Nieves, Steve Karakas, and Ken Canedo. Incredibly well done good people!!!
Having just initiated 15 men and women into the sacramental life of the church, I want to again extend our welcome to these people. It has been inspiring seeing your eagerness to unite with us, and your faithfulness to the process of preparation. Our RCIA team members under the leadership of Patrick Berg are John Providenza, Stacy Ball, Adam Turco, and Don Hammond. Thanks for your time, effort and dedication—and also thanks too to our sponsors!
Coming up next is our Spring Tea Party on Saturday, April 5 beginning at noon. See details in this bulletin. Tickets are available in the display in the Narthex after all masses. Also note this week on Monday evening, April 7 all who have participated in the Small Faith Communities during lent are gathering for a potluck and debrief time: 6:30pm in the Fireside Room.
He is risen. Alleluia, Alleluia!!! |
