Welcome New Director of

Children's Faith Formation Programs:  Melissa Core

  This past July, Holy Trinity Parish welcomed Melissa Core as its new Director of Faith Formation for Children.  An 18-year resident of Vancouver, Washington, Melissa hails from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she had served in that parish's children ministry since 2000.  Bringing a wealth of "hands-on" experience to this very important role, Melissa credits the many years of "volunteering and on the job training" dealing with the religious education of parish children who do not attend Catholic school as key preparation for this

responsibility. 

  A primary focus of Melissa's job also includes supporting parents in fulfilling their responsibility to bring their children up as Catholics, so Melissa looks to the future of the Children's Faith Formation programs at Holy Trinity where she says "inter-generational programs" will take center stage.  Currently servicing between 150 to 175 children through the nine various programs, Melissa's anticipates becoming more involved and working closely with the parents in our "very active and diverse parish."  To contact Melissa directly, please call her at (503) 646-0331 or by e-mail at Childrenff@h-t.org.
