Lorenzo & Miguel Rivera:
Holy Trinity Parishioners
Make It to Little League World Series!
Our very own parishioner, 13-year old Miguel Rivera
made Holy Trinity proud this summer
as part of the hometown Murrayhill Majors All Stars
team that took third place in the Little League World
Series.
With experience playing left field, first
base, and pitcher, Miguel was specially selected for
the prestigious All Star team of twelve by coaches and
players in the league. Miguel says "my father has
been with me all the way: through states, regionals,
and all the way to Williamsport."
Looking back atthis amazing experience to showcase his talent, Miguel acknowledges that after the first game, his nerves went away, and that he was able to make new friends
along the way. Miguel made special note that he
became fast friends with many of the players off of
the team from Hawaii. Members of the Holy Trinity
parish since 1999 when he and his father, Lorenzo, moved to Portland from Sydney, Australia, they have
both been very active in the church.
Miguel has been an altar server, choir member and has "grown up in the church" by taking his first communion and being confirmed at Holy Trinity. Lorenzo gives of his time
as a communion minister and lector. Congratulations
to both Miguel and Lorenzo! |
