Schedule 2007-2008

The Rite of Christian Initiation takes place in stages, with each stage expressing a further development or deepening of one’s faith commitment.

During the first stage, potential converts are presented with an overview of Catholicism and its teachings and practices.  The next stages include further instruction, which includes breaking open the Word of Scripture for discussion, learning, and growth.

One celebrates full initiation into the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil with the reception of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Sessions after Easter provide further instruction, as well as encouragement for the ongoing journey.

RCIA and RCIA adapted for children are open to adults and children who have not been baptized or who have been baptized in another faith tradition.

Parishioners from Holy Trinity are given the opportunity to share their faith as sponsor and friend.

For more information and session times, contact the Faith Formation office at 503-643-9528.
