Blessings to every one of our moms and a huge thank you for all you have done for so many. With the intercession of Jesus’ mom, may you be filled with gratitude, joy, and the necessary strength to be everything you are called to be!

First Communion last weekend was quite the experience! Thanks to all who helped prepare our children: parents, teachers, catechists, helpers, and everyone involved. This week whenever I have seen children who just made their First Communion I have asked them how it went. Here are two responses: “I can hardly wait to get to my class and see how different it will be now that everyone is full of Jesus.” “I was so filled with joy after receiving Communion that I thought I might blow up!” May all of us be so filled with expectation every time we receive the Eucharist!

Our International Festival is this weekend beginning with our Saturday evening Mass. One of the distinguishing features of Holy Trinity is our ethnic diversity. We truly are made up of people from all over the globe! More remarkable than that is the ease with which we all unite when we come together for Mass. Our common faith is truly the reason! It is a joy to be your pastor! Thank you to all who work so hard to put on this Festival. I am sure it will be a winner again!

We had a seminarian here for a summer internship several years ago. Jeff Eirvin will be ordained a priest June 9, 11:00am at the Cathedral by Archbishop Vlazney. All are welcome to join in the celebration. Please keep him in your prayers as he then completes his final year of study in Rome before returning to Oregon to serve.

Our Pastoral Council has one opening to serve for the next three years. This council meets monthly on Saturday mornings to assist in the ongoing development and evaluation of long and short term priorities for the parish. Please see Brett or me if you have interest in serving. Members of our current council are Fred Schulz (chair), Hal Brey, Suzan Burke, Paul Alappat, Ann Hammond, Bruce Waldvogel, and Analizza Lambino.

Please see this week’s Saint Child column for immediate needs for volunteering in this new partnership with our parish!
