“It will be a moment of grace and commitment to a more complete conversion to God, to strengthen our faith in Him and proclaim Him with joy to the people of our time.”

Pope Benedict XVI
Proclamation of the Year of Faith, 2012-2013

What is the Year of Faith?
It is a “summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the One Savior of the world” (Porta fidei 6 — Pope Benedict’s Apostolic Letter on the Year of Faith). We are called to undergo a conversion of faith in which we are drawn ever nearer to a more personal and deeper relationship with Christ and his Church. This is part of the Church’s overall effort to foster a new era of missionary activity, known as the New Evangelization.
